This grant includes free training and materials in addition to funding. Activities should center Equity, Diversity, Justice, and Inclusion in birdwatching and ornithology. Celebrate Urban Birds will prioritize community-led applications from underserved communities that share their local knowledge and expertise and emphasize culture and the arts.

Funding is intended to support splitboard expeditions of multiple days that may focus on a tour of a region or a single summit or descent. Two separate grants are available: the Jones Backcountry Adventure Grant and the Jones Live Like Liz Award, the latter of which is open only to female applicants. Residencies to USA individual artists and collaborative teams of any discipline. The purpose is to give artists the opportunity to create new works and learn from and collaborate with other artists. The residencies will take place in a beautiful remote location in Minnesota.

Grants of up to $1,000 to USA nonprofit organizations and K-12 educators for initiatives to promote internet safety. Funding is intended for the purchase of materials and supplies for use when conducting classroom sessions, assemblies, after-school activities, and community events. The goal of the program is to encourage teachers and organizations to participate in Safer Internet Day, an annual global celebration where everyone is empowered to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

In-kind support to USA nonprofit organizations to streamline their data management. Awardees will receive access to specific technology that will improve their fundraising capacity. Training on how to use this technology will also be provided. The goal is to assist eligible nonprofit organizations by providing them with a technological upgrade from their current spreadsheet-based donor management system to DonorDock's software, thus enhancing their fundraising and donor management capabilities.

Grants of $600 to USA Tribe members to mitigate financial loss incurred during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Funding is intended to support meatpacking and agricultural workers. The relevant period of employment is January 27, 2020 through May 11, 2023. Priority will be given to members of federally recognized tribes across the US, with secondary priority granted to all eligible workers within the Cherokee Nation Reservation in NE Oklahoma.

Funding is intended to provide relief from losses experienced by the team due to an instance of destruction or devastation, such as a wildfire or hurricane. Priority consideration will be given to requests that demonstrate the most significant need. Requests for swim team dues relief shall only be for swimmers and/or families who have been severely impacted by a disaster.

Grants of up to $5,000 to USA individuals and small teams to carry out humanitarian projects that have an aspect of mountaineering. Funding is intended for projects to benefit local communities in places with a connection to the mountaineering community, whether domestically or internationally.

Residencies to USA artist educators to focus on their work in a restful environment. This program is open to artists currently teaching at a K-12 level or in a higher education entity, and those who identify as freelance teaching artists. Artists will balance personal work time with opportunities to interact and share their work and process with other professionals. The residency is designed to be an opportunity to support each artist’s goals, needs, and interests.

Residencies to USA emerging artists or collaborative teams for rejuvenation and professional growth. This 10-day residency is open to artists working in all disciplines, including visual, performing, and literary arts. The program provides ample time to share work in progress, enjoy recreation, and connect with other professionals.

Contract for services to a USA, Canada, or International artist or artist team to create a piece of artwork to commemorate the Holocaust. The artistic piece will incorporate a vast collection of buttons to honor the memory of the war's murdered children, to be displayed at a designated site in Massachusetts. Funds may be used to cover the costs of materials, labor, and installation. The purpose of the project is to commemorate these children and raise awareness about the atrocities of the Holocaust, fostering reflection and education among the community.

Grant funds may be used for a wide range of activities, including new equipment purchases, a product launch, and physical improvements.

Grants of up to $20,000 to USA Native American youth and young adults partnering with nonprofit organizations, schools, or tribal organizations for projects that promote positive change in their communities. Funding is intended to recognize Native youth, ages 18-30, who are making a difference in their communities and who are healing centuries of injustice.

Grant to a USA nonprofit organization for a project to protect and manage water sources. Funding is intended to address groundwater and watershed supplies to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change. Eligible projects could include management through reducing the impact of extreme weather events; innovative approaches to responsible land and water management; or remediation of impacted watersheds.

In-kind support of volunteer assistance to Texas nonprofit organizations for community events in eligible locations. The program is intended to help local nonprofits by offering volunteers for community-based programs and projects on a short-term basis. The purpose of this program is to benefit the Austin community.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International scholars to pursue humanities-related projects at an institute in Illinois. Funding is intended to facilitate research and the use of the Foundation's resources for a limited period of time. Several categories of fellowships are available. Applications that propose productive use of the Newberry’s collections are more likely to receive fellowship awards. The fellowships will take place at the Newberry in Chicago.

Grants of up to $6,000 to USA nonprofit organizations to support the provision of literacy services for students. Funding is intended for general operations, including but not limited to equipment, supplies, salaries, space rental, technology, teacher stipends, and more. Proposals may also focus on a particular project or new programming effort.

Opportunity for Texas underserved entrepreneurs to participate in a business development program. Participants will receive funds in the form of a loan and a grant, training, professional resources, networking opportunities, tools and technology, and ongoing support and aftercare through dedicated business coaching and mentorship.

Fellowships of $5,000 to USA high school teachers to pursue writing projects. Applications are welcome from current teachers of grades 9-12 who consider themselves creative writers. Funding is intended to support the writing of new works in progress. The goal of the program is to allow fellows to focus on their writing over summer break.

Competition for USA, Canada, and International photographers for images in a selection of categories. There will be an award for the overall winner of the open competition and another for female photographers entering the competition, as well as 15 shortlisted photographers per category. The contest is open to all members of the public; images must be taken in 2024. Winners will be announced at a formal ceremony in London.

All genres, styles, and approaches are welcome; the contest is for applicants ages 19 and under. A shortlist of up to 9 individuals will be selected; the winner will be named Youth Photographer of the Year and will receive photographic equipment and free travel and accommodation to an awards ceremony.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations, government agencies, businesses, IHEs and Tribes to strengthen the capabilities of maternal and child health programs. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several days to complete. Funding is intended for collaborative and coordinated support efforts in the areas of training, peer-to-peer learning, and education. Recipients will be funded to align key activities and increase capacity of state and local MCH leaders toward a more effective, coordinated system of MCH care.

Opportunity for California, Illinois, and Texas underrepresented women business founders in eligible cities to participate in a leadership development program. The purpose of the program is to provide resources to underserved entrepreneurs so they can have a positive impact on their communities. The program is virtual.
