Grants of up to $2,500 to Texas educators for projects to improve education in eligible locations. Funding is intended to support creative programs for all subjects and grade levels, which reach beyond the traditional curriculum and are not included in the school budget. Eligible programs help improve education in the Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD).

The project could incorporate technology in a new way, address an issue or weakness in students' understanding in a creative way, offer students subjects or experiences beyond those provided in a typical school day, or enhance learning through hands-on or experiential learning.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Up to $2,500

Term of Contract:

Projects must be completed between Sept. 1, 2021 – April 1, 2022.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any Dallas ISD educator may apply.

GFIT does not fund technology-only grants. For example, a request for iPads for daily use in the classroom would be considered technology-only and would not fall within the funding guidelines of GFIT.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due by April 23, 2021.

Applicants will be notified of selection in late July and grants will be released in Mid-August. An awards ceremony is planned for September.

New applicants should create an Agency Profile. It should take two business days for your profile to be approved in the system.

Ensuring that your grant application only lists items from approved Dallas ISD vendors increases the likelihood of the project being funded.
