THE CORPORATION SHALL ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE, RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL FUNCTIONS PRIMARILY BY AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING STUDENTS IN AUSTIN COUNTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CRITERIA SET FORTH IN THE BY-LAWS OF THE CORPORATION. THE ORGANIZATION MAY MAKE DISTRIBUTIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT QUALIFY AS EXEMPT ORGANIZATION UNDER THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, IRC SECTION 501(C)(3)(1992), AND SHALL PROMOTE THE HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO.
