Grant Description

Grants of up to $50,000 to Texas nonprofit organizations to address the health and basic needs of residents in eligible regions. Applicants are required to submit an LOI prior to a full grant application. Eligible organizations are those that provide direct services to Georgetown residents living within the following zip codes: 78626, 78628, 78633, 78673, 78674, and 78634.

Georgetown Health Foundation is committed to supporting local nonprofit organizations that expand or enhance the health needs in the Georgetown community. This is done through collaborating with local non-profit organizations. The funding prioritizes basic needs and the social determinants of health supporting such needs.

GHF 2022 Philanthropic Priorities:

Priority 1: Basic Needs: Food, Shelter/Housing
Priority 2: Basic Needs: Social Determinants of Health (Direct): Personal Security/Mental Health, Healthcare, Transportation, Child/Out-of-School/Homebound Adult Care
Priority 3: Social Determinants of Health (Supportive): Emergency Financial Assistance, Job Training

In order to be considered for funding, nonprofit organizations must serve GHF’s target population: Georgetown children, youth, elders, and families who are low-income and/or have significant need. Low-income is defined as households whose total annual income is no more than 200% of federal poverty guidelines in any given year.

In order to be considered for funding, nonprofit organizations must ensure that their mission, vision, priorities, target population and service area align with GHF’s. See URL for Full Text (RFP) for additional information on mission, vision, priorities, and target population.

Not funded:
- Direct support of individuals
- Clinical trials of drugs or devices
- For-profit organizations
- Programs that exclude participants on the basis of race, religion, age, gender, or sexual orientation
- Loans
- Support of political agendas or candidates

Additional Geographic Information:

Geographic service area encompasses all residents living within Georgetown and its extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ) and includes the following zip codes: 78626, 78628, 78633, 78673, 78674, and 78634.

2022 Annual Grant Process Opens December 1, 2021
LOIs are due by 5:00 pm Central Time on Friday, January 28, 2022.

- February 17, 2023: Notification Regarding LOI Status
- March 31, 2023: Full Proposal Deadline for Invited Organizations
- Last week of May 2023: Notification of Grant Awards

Funding requests cannot exceed 25% of an organization’s total operations in any given year.
