Grants totaling up to $20,000 to New Mexico and Texas nonprofit organizations, schools, and government agencies in the funding source's service area for programs that positively impact local communities in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Funding is intended to benefit rural communities. Organizations must reside within the geographical boundaries of LCEC’s service territory, which are in areas of Southeastern New Mexico and West Texas in portions of six (6) counties: Chaves, Eddy, and Lea counties in New Mexico; and Cochran, Gaines, and Yoakum counties in Texas.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

LCEC is allocating funds in cooperation with CoBank’s Sharing Success Program awarded to nonprofit organizations in its service territory.

Select organizations that are not designated a 501(c)(3) are also eligible. These organizations include schools and government organizations such as counties or municipalities and their agencies or departments, as long as the donation serves a public purpose and is consistent with the purpose and guidelines of the Sharing Success program.

Organizations must reside within the geographical boundaries of LCEC’s service territory.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications with required documentation must be received by end of business day on Friday, May 29, 2020.

Winners of the LCEC applications will be notified via email.

Matching funds are contingent upon availability (even after LCEC selects winners) of matching funds from CoBank.
