Awards starting at $25,000 to USA, Puerto Rico, and Canada (excluding Quebec) founders of nonprofit social impact organizations to recognize work benefiting low and middle-income women and children. Prizes are intended to reward pioneering individuals who have made strides in the areas of education, social reform, health, and self esteem.

The Jaffe Awards is a program that gives a financial award to the organization of three everyday heroes who are making the world a better place for women and children through innovative and entrepreneurial social reform.

The Sponsor will select one grand-prize winner and two runner up winners.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The grand-prize winner’s Organization will receive a $100,000 award. The Organization of each runner-up will receive a $25,000 award.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Anyone who is at least twenty-one (21) years old may nominate an individual (himself, herself, and/or a family member) in this Contest.

Nominees must be:

- Legal residents of one (1) of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or Canada (excluding Quebec) (the “Territory”),
- At least twenty-one (21) years old on the date of nomination in this Contest, and
- A creator or founder of a social impact organization (“Organization”) that:

a. Is either (i) a U.S. legal entity that has itself received and maintains 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service, (ii) U.S.-based and holds a formalized, written fiscal-sponsorship arrangement with a U.S. legal entity that has received and maintains 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, or (iii) a Canadian legal entity that is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency,
b. Is independent and autonomous and must not be substantially supported by, or serve the purpose of promoting, religious or political organizations or beliefs.
c. Is based in the Territory, and
d. Has a primary objective related to improving health, education, or esteem or to leadership development and benefiting low- and middle-income women and/or children in the Territory.

While the nominee must have created or founded an Organization, entities are not eligible nominees in this contest and the Organization itself cannot be nominated.

Employees of Ascena, or its subsidiaries, and their immediate family members are not eligible to be nominated.

Pre-Application Information:

Entry requires two steps: Nomination of nominee and submission by nominee of an application. Nomination period begins 3/1/2019 at 12:00:00 AM ET; ends 5/15/2019 at 11:59:59 PM ET. Applications must be received by 11:59:59 PM ET on 5/31/2019.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning nominee’s organization.
