Grants starting at $5,000 to greater San Antonio area, Texas nonprofit organizations for programs to benefit children. Funding is intended to assist children in the areas of education, medical treatment, basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing, and other charitable purposes. Grants will be awarded to organizations serving the counties of Bexar, Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson.

Grants range from $5,000 and up.

Term of Contract:

The Foundation does not award multi-year grants. Only single year proposals will be considered.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Only Section 501(c)(3) organizations may apply for grants from the Foundation. In addition, the organization must be qualified as 509(a)(1) or. 509(a)(2) and such designation must appear on the IRS Determination letter. If the organization is a 509(a)(3), a legal opinion must be attached.

Only 501(c)(3) organizations located and serving children in the following counties will be considered for funding from the Najim Family Foundation - Bexar, Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson.

The Foundation will not award grants to individuals.

The Foundation will not award grants to for-profit organizations.

The Najim Family Foundation does not provide funding to higher education organizations or towards higher education, for capital campaigns/expenditures, multi-year requests, sponsorships, galas, or events.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications for the April Cycle will be accepted through the online portal only beginning February 5, 2018 and closing at 11:59 pm on February 28, 2018. Late or Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

2018 Funding Schedule:

Application deadline:
- February 28, 2018 (Wednesday). Please Note: The Application will not be available until Monday, February 6, 2018.
Grants awarded: April Board Meeting

- May 30, 2018 (Wednesday). Please Note: The Application will not be available until Monday, May 7, 2018.
Grants awarded: July Board Meeting

- August 29, 2018 (Wednesday). Please Note: The Application will not be available until Monday, August 6, 2018.
Grants awarded: October Board Meeting

The Najim Family Foundation will no longer require a Letter of Inquiry. In addition, the Foundation will be converting to an Online Fillable Application. The application questions will remain the same as previous years; however, it will need to be completed online.

An organization must first create a user profile through the online portal. Then the fillable application will be available for viewing.

The Foundation asks that applicants email their assigned Grant Manager to verify submission.

The Foundation will not consider more than one Grant Request per calendar year.
