Deadline Date:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $2,500 to Texas educators for projects to improve education in eligible regions. Funding is intended for creative programs for all subjects and grade levels that reach beyond the traditional curriculum and are not included in the school budget. Programs must help improve education in the Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD).

The project could incorporate technology in a new way, address an issue or weakness in students' understanding in a creative way, offer students subjects or experiences beyond those provided in a typical school day, or enhance learning through hands-on or experiential learning.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Up to $2,500

Term of Contract:

Projects must be completed between Sept. 1, 2020 – April 1, 2021.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any Dallas ISD educator may apply.

GFIT does not fund technology-only grants. For example, a request for iPads for daily use in the classroom would be considered technology-only and would not fall within the funding guidelines of GFIT.

Pre-Application Information:

Deadline: Sunday, April 26

A GFIT researcher may call or email you in May regarding your application. Please respond in a timely manner.

Grant funds are anticipated to be distributed to grant recipients in mid-August.

Application Instructions:
Step 1: Create an Agency Profile or Log-In. If you already have a username and password from last year’s application, log in and proceed to Step 2 or Step 3. It should take two business days for your profile to be approved in the system. Please contact Kristianne Hinkamp if you experience a delay.
Step 2: Read about Grants for Innovative Teaching.
Step 3: Fill out the Application.

Ensuring that your grant application only lists items from approved Dallas ISD vendors increases the likelihood of the project being funded.

For additional details on how to apply, see Grants for Innovative Teaching Application Instructions in Supporting Documents below.
