Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $10,000 to Texas nonprofit organizations to strengthen eligible communities. Focus areas include, but are not limited to, economic development, education, environment, community safety, and needs related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Eligible proposals will benefit residents in the Texas-New Mexico Power service territory.

Power Grants provide funds to help build vibrant Texas communities where TNMP serves.

  • Community Safety: improve community safety either directly for residents in public areas or indirectly through public safety services and programs.
  • Economic Vitality: enhance economic development opportunities, including job training and job creation.
  • Education: support educational initiatives, especially those targeting literacy, improving high school graduation rates, youth leadership and workforce development skills.
  • Environment: provide measurable and visible environmental impacts, including preservation, restoration and beautification, or environmental education.
  • Covid Impacts: Projects specific to responding to community needs tied to Covid-19 also will be considered.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Individual grants will be funded in amounts between $2,000 and $10,000. TNMP anticipates funding many grants for amounts less than $10,000 and TNMP encourages applicants to submit grants for dollar amounts actually needed to fund given projects.

Term of Contract:

Applicants will have until July 31, 2021 to complete their projects.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The TNMP Fund seeks innovative and creative proposals from qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations. These include qualifying foundations affiliated with municipalities and schools. Submissions must be made by via qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations.
