Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $10,000 to $45,000 to North and West Texas nonprofit organizations and government agencies in eligible counties to support projects related to breast cancer. Applicants must attend a grantwriting workshop prior to applying. Funding is intended for programs and projects in the areas of breast cancer treatment, screening, education, outreach, treatment, patient navigation, and additional services not otherwise available for the medically underserved populations in the Funding Source's 91-county service area.

Komen West Texas will award community grants to organizations that will provide breast cancer projects that address specific funding priorities, which were selected based on data from the current Community Profile Report. The funding priority areas for the South Plains are listed below in order of importance, based on the needs identified in the Community Profile:

  1. Reducing Barriers to Care
  2. Patient Navigation
  3. Breast Cancer Education

For additional information about these priority areas, see: https://komennwtx.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/TX-107-FY-20-CG-RFA-FINAL-3.pdf#page=4

All applicants are required to develop project objective(s) to reduce breast cancer mortality by addressing disparities, increasing access to quality and timely care, and/or improving outcomes through patient navigation. All projects must have at least one Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Time-bound (SMART) objective that will be accomplished with Komen funding and can be evaluated including an estimated timeline and the anticipated number of individuals to be served.
